Art is absolutely full of possibilities.
They are infinite.
They are infinite.
That is one of the most grand things about art. It makes each and every person – who chooses to partake in it – unique in their own way.
Original works, in my opinion, are the best works of art.
In a way, they are a window to what one thinks. They are able to show us what someone cannot say; as previously stated in the “What is Venting?” blog post.
An original work tells a lot about a person. It's almost like body language in a way. If you see it one way, you could interpret it as something different than its original intentions.
However, don't let that stop you from doing something original. The world needs more originality. If you have an idea, go and do it.

STAND OUT
Be yourself. It's the best person to be.
I used to hate being myself. However, I used to be very different than I am now.
I was selfish and needy and all I could think about was how much I wanted that new toy... but this was back years and years ago and I realized I had to change. Part of that change included swapping pointless games with dolls for meaningful art work.
But back to the point...
If you think there's something you should do, do it.
If you don't you may regret it.
That said, don't be rash about it. Start small and bounce the ideas off of your friends or family if it is something that has potential to harm your future. If its something small like a song or a picture, obviously that can be done without much thought.
If you have a hard time being yourself try listening to these songs (which I do not own):

One amazing possibility that art gives us is the ability to grow. Take this comparison, for example.
This one (above) I did back in 2010. I remember thinking how proud of myself I was after it was done. Now, I'm looking at it and thinking that I want to throw it away.
This one (above) is a redraw of the same type of thing, but done this year. I find myself proud of this one too. Just like I was when I finished the old one.
Do you see improvement?
That's because when you work at something, you can always improve.
I wonder, four years from now, if I look back at these what will I think of them? Will I have improved any more? I won't know unless I try it.
You won't know unless you try.
Art teaches you many things. Perseverance is one of those things.
If I had never started drawing, then I wouldn't be at the point where I am today. “Practice makes perfect”, right?
“Practice makes perfect” is such a flawed phrase though. There is no way for anyone to be truly “perfect”. However, you can be perfect in your own way.
Just be you.
That is what perfection is.
I know it sounds corny, but it is the honest truth from where I stand.
